Figures with joints, swappable hands and accessories, bought by people who want to pose them on a shelf rather than simply look at them. Hasbro's Marvel Legends and Star Wars The Black Series lead the range, with Mattel covering Masters of the Universe and WWE, NECA covering horror cinema and McFarlane covering DC. We split by height because scales sit badly together on one shelf: fifteen centimetres is the adult collector standard and the rest is arranged around it.
